The world of Redis continues to grow and evolve. As the Product Manager for Redis at Rackspace, I am amazed to see the continued growth in Redis usage and the strength of the Redis community. I tell people all the time that the beauty of Redis is its simplicity. This simplicity is one of the things that I think drives developers to find ways to make Redis a critical part of their applications. I have heard several lead developers tell their teams very pointedly – if they aren’t considering using Redis for a particular data solution, they better have a good reason why. Using this approach causes developers to think about their data and their applications in a more creative and efficient manner, thus driving innovation. This is one of the reasons that I believe we are still just scratching the surface on where Redis can go as a datastore and its potential impact on solutions and technology.

During the coming weeks, we are going to release a series of video interviews discussing various Redis topics. The topics will range from Redis use cases to Redis performance to the Redis community and a lot in between. The people discussing these topics are some of the major influencers in the Redis community. Whether you are a Redis novice or a seasoned Redis user, you will find these video interviews interesting and valuable. At a minimum, they should spark some enlightening thought and discussion. As the Redis Product Manager, I invite you to watch each video and share them with your fellow Redis users.

First up is a video that reiterates the point of how easy Redis is to use out of the gate. It covers some of the basics around the design of Redis itself and what makes it so appealing to so many developers. The video also goes into growing Redis and some of the challenges associated with scaling. It does a good job of setting the stage for a bigger Redis conversation.
